These rules govern the organisation and conduct of online auctions for the resale of vehicles, number plates, rims and tyres on the website bidauto.ie. They apply to both legal entities and private individuals who wish to sell their vehicles or related items, as well as to those placing bids as Buyers. These rules (hereinafter referred to as “the Rules”) outline the responsibilities, rights, and procedures applicable to all participants.
Definitions
- Auctioneer

- Auction
- An online platform operated at https://bidauto.ie, facilitating the buying and selling of vehicles, rims, tyre and other transport between users.
- Vehicle
- A vehicle owned by the Seller that is free of legal encumbrances and available for sale on the Auction platform.
- Auction Item
- Any vehicle , rim , tyre or other transport submitted by the Seller for auction, which is legally allowed to be sold and not restricted in any way.
- Auction Participant
- Any individual or company who registers on the platform, verifies contact information, and agrees to these Rules.
- Entry Fee
- A one-time, non-refundable administrative fee of EUR 30.00 that grants the user unlimited bidding access across all auctions. The Entry Fee is retained in the user’s virtual wallet for use toward a future success fee if the user wins an auction.
- Success Fee
- A percentage-based fee paid by the winning Buyer, calculated based on the final auction price.
- Virtual Wallet
- A digital balance associated with the Auction Participant’s account, used for Entry Fees, Success Fees, and potential refunds.
- Reserve Price
- The minimum amount set by the Seller, below which they are not obliged to sell the Auction Item.
- Negotiations
- If the reserve price is not met, the highest bidder and the Seller may negotiate a final price within a 48-hour window after the auction ends.
Registration and Participation
To participate in auctions, users must:
- Register at bidauto.ie using valid personal or company details.
- Verify their email and mobile number.
- Accept the auction rules.
- Pay the Entry Fee to unlock full bidding functionality.
Each participant may only hold one registered account. The Auctioneer reserves the right to request documentation, verify details, or restrict access if false or misleading information is provided.
Auction Creation and Approval
Sellers can create auctions by submitting a form including detailed descriptions, photos, and known defects. Listings are reviewed and approved by the Auctioneer within one business day. Editing is only allowed before approval. Once published, auctions cannot be removed unless cancelled by the Auctioneer.
Bidding and Auction Process
Buyers may place manual or automatic bids. The highest bid at the end of the auction wins, provided it meets or exceeds the reserve price. If not, a negotiation period begins.
Winning Buyers must:
- Pay the Success Fee within 2 calendar days.
- Conclude the sale and payment with the Seller within 7 calendar days.
Sellers must:
- Ensure the Auction Item has all required documentation.
- Transfer the item within 7 calendar days after agreement.
Fees and Penalties

Failure to complete a transaction within specified timelines may result in daily penalties or removal from the platform.
Prohibited Actions
Participants may not:
- Modify the platform’s code or functionality.
- Share login credentials.
- Upload harmful software.
- Spread false or unlawful content.
- Circumvent auction rules or conduct transactions outside the platform.
Liability
BidAuto Ltd is not responsible for:
- Discrepancies in item condition.
- Transaction outcomes.
- External website content.
- Damages resulting from force majeure events.
Buyers and Sellers are fully responsible for the legality and accuracy of their listings, bids, and conduct on the platform.
Privacy & Data Protection
BidAuto Ltd processes personal data in accordance with GDPR and Irish data protection laws. Information is used solely for auction-related purposes and never shared without consent, except as required by law.
Jurisdiction & Disputes
These Rules and all resulting agreements are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ireland. Disputes shall be resolved amicably where possible, or through the appropriate Irish courts if necessary.
Final Provisions
BidAuto Ltd reserves the right to update these Rules. Changes will be announced on bidauto.ie and take effect upon publication. Continued use of the platform indicates acceptance.
